TAPANULI UTARA, DanauToba.org — The Chairman of YPDT, Drs Maruap Siahaan, MBA, was delighted to host his friend John Chisholm, business Author, speaker and Immediate Past President of MIT Alumni Association from California for a memorable Lake Toba visit on 20-21 February 2018.
On arrival at Silangit Airport, John Chisholm was met by Binhot Aritonang, head of Tourism Office
Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara and his staff Rinawati Nainggolan. They joined us to the magnificent Huta Ginjang lookout, hosted our lunch at Rumah Adat Batak in Muara and accompanied us to the holy waterfall of Sipangolu as well as the Sibandang village on Sibandang Island.
The Sibandang Island stop was a particular delight for all visitors as we were able to have casual conversations with a number of the local people as we walked through their village.

On our Lake Toba tour John was also accompanied by local YPDT Members, Sebastian Hutabarat, Ratnauli Gultom, Samsir Simanjuntak, Thomas Heinle and AVI volunteer Hank van Apeldoorn.
John really enjoyed his overnight stay at the Dapdap lodge of Samsir Simanjuntak and the glorious boat rides between the different locations on Lake Toba before he departed from Silangit Airport mid morning on Wednesday 21 February.
In his response to the Chairman, John Chisholm said: “Thank you for and unforgettable time on Lake Toba. It was a highlight of my two weeks in Indonesia.” (HA)
